On the Verge of Something Big
AUSTIN - McAllen junior swimmer Shaine Casas recorded the second fastest qualifying time in two individual events on Friday at the UIL Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin. It sets the stage for a Valley swimmer to do something rarely done: earn two medals on the final day of competition on Saturday. Sharyland diver Sandra Valdez also put herself in medal consideration, and was among a full roster of local swimmers and divers competing in the 6A and 5A meets.
