BROWNSVILLE – Local pharmacists are warning about third-party prescription medicine vendors.

KRGV’s Rudy Mireles spoke to local pharmacist Sunny Bhakta about the issue.

Bhakta says it may be easier to get medicine from third-party vendors but it is less safe and could even land you in the emergency room.

Rene Soriano was arraigned in federal court on Tuesday afternoon.

He pled guilty to three counts of introducing misbranded prescription drugs into interstate commerce.

Soriano used Facebook to illegally sell erectile dysfunction tablets throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

He is to be sentenced on May 14 and faces a maximum jail time of three years and $10,000 in fines.
