Prime Healthcare to set up offices at Harlingen's Valle Vista Mall

It was once the place where Harlingen went to shop, but now, half of the Valle Vista Mall sits empty.

The Valle Vista Mall used to house well-known retailers, like Dillard’s, Sears and Forever 21. But those, and many more, have since closed over the years.

In April, Harlingen Mayor Chris Boswell made the announcement that the company Task Us would be coming to the mall. The company saying it will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Prime Healthcare, the parent company of Harlingen Medical, Knapp Medical in Weslaco and Mission Regional, will also open up offices in the mall at a later date.

Daniel Galvan, a real estate developer with Coldwell Banker, tells Channel 5 News the offices will be located between the former Sears and Dillard's. 

Neither the owner of the mall, Michael Kohan, or the director of the Harlingen Business Development Corporation were available for an interview.
