Rangel, Lopez advance to House District 125 runoff
SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Democrat Ray Lopez has advanced to a runoff with Republican Fred Rangel for San Antonio's state House District 125 seat vacated by Democrat Justin Rodriguez.
Rodriguez resigned the seat to accept appointment to the Bexar (BAYR) County Commissioners Court.
With all precincts reporting, unofficial final totals gave Rangel 38 percent of the vote to Lopez's 19.41 percent, narrowly edging Democrat Coda Rayo-Garza's 19.05 percent.
Democrat Arthur Reyna finished fourth with 17 percent, while Democrat Steve Huerta scored 6 percent.
Gov. Greg Abbott has yet to set a date for the runoff.
