Raymondville Working to Remove Dilapidated Structures
RAYMONDVILLE – The city of Raymondville is working to take down decaying buildings.
Mayor Gilbert Gonzales says the city got the owner of an abandoned building on 7th Street to tear down the structure.
He tells us the demolition of the building was paid for by the owner, Union Pacific.
In about a week, another abandoned building on 3rd Street will also come down.
Gonzales says the city will pay for the demolition.
The cost will be between $8,000 and $12,000.
Extra caution will be taken because of asbestos in the building.
