Rio Grande City Murder Suspect Accused of Violating Bond Conditions

RIO GRANDE CITY – A suspect in a high-profile murder investigation has a new date with a judge.

Jose Garcia, Jr. is due in court Thursday.

Garcia is accused in the 2017 murder of Chayse Olivarez.

Authorities say Garcia violated bond conditions by driving unsupervised when he was supposed to be on home confinement.

Garcia is charged with tampering with evidence in the Olivarez case.
