Rio Grande City police are working to increase surveillance near Fort Ringgold Park after it was vandalized.

Police say someone smashed a sink and damaged an attic door in the park's restroom building. So far, no arrests have been made, but police are still looking for those responsible.

"Currently we are working with our parks and rec on how to secure the park a little bit better. Right now we are having a little extra patrol in that area," Interim Police Chief Jose Solis said.

Police say the suspect would face criminal mischief and burglary charges and they are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that could lead to an arrest.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Rio Grande City Police Department at 956-487-8892.
