SAN BENITO – New rules are in effect for San Benito city employees, including police officers.

Effective immediately, officers will be allowed to carry recording devices, but only if they’re used for valid police purposes.

City commissioners will be prohibited from taking expensive gifts, and city employees and their family members will not be allowed to bid on auctioned items.
