Sheriff Deputies Investigating after Body Found with Gunshot Wounds
UPDATE: Hidalgo County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for two, or possibly three suspects in a homicide investigation.
Two others are already in custody.
Saturday morning, the body of 23-year-old Fernando Garza was found in the area of Mile 13 and Iowa Road.
Investigators say he was discovered with gunshot wounds.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra told CHANNEL 5 NEWS the investigation was linked to a missing persons report earlier this week.
"Thursday, we received a call from a concerned citizen, actually the mother of our victim, reporting that her son had been missing," Sheriff Guerra said.
"She received a call from some of his friends that he had been possibly kidnapped."
Friday, investigators found an abandoned vehicle that was burned. That vehicle belonged to Garza.
There's no word on any motive at this time.
