ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Latinos across the U.S. took to social media to praise and dissect the Super Bowl halftime performance by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez - two of the world's most popular Latina artists. Some said Sunday's performance draped itself in Hollywood tropes of Latina sexuality. But it also contained subtle political messages about children in cages, Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria and the urge to be heard. In El Paso, Texas, resident Yol-Itzma Aguirre called the performance emotional and said it brought her sister to tears. Luivette Resto, a Puerto Rico-born poet, said it filled her with Latina pride.
