Starr Co. Constable Fails Third Attempt at Peace Officer’s Exam
RIO GRANDE CITY – A Starr County constable failed his third and final attempt at passing the peace officer's exam.
Precinct 4 Constable Jaime Martinez took office without holding a peace keeper's license.
Texas law states a constable must get their license on or before their 270 day in office, which would be by September 28 in Martinez's case.
It's unclear if Starr County will exercise their right to remove Martinez from his position.
