Contractors with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin surveys for construction of a levee-border wall system Monday.
The surveys will take place along the International Boundary and Water Commission levee between Abram and Mission.
They're expected to be complete by Friday, December 21.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection started planning for levee wall construction in 2017.
It's expected to get underway in February 2019.
