EDINBURG – A man charged in connection to a fatal crash back in 2014 will serve a 10-year prison sentence.

Leolagario Villegas pleaded guilty earlier this month.

The crash happened on US 281 north of Hinojosa Road near Edinburg.

Israel Romeo Garza, 75, was riding a bicycle when he was struck and killed.

Villegas was charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.

In addition to prison time, Villegas also faces a $1,500 fine.
