WESLACO – Some schools in the Rio Grande Valley have hard work waiting for them after the holiday break.

The Texas Education Agency released their final accountability ratings this month.

Most schools met standards; seven campuses and one district did not.

Improvement is required for the following campuses:

  • Brownsville Learning Academy
  • Miller Jordan Middle School
  • Santa Maria Middle School
  • Monte Alto High School
  • College Career and Technology Academy
  • La Villa Elementary & Middle Schools

One school district has two out of their three schools in need of improvement. La Villa middle and elementary both pushed the district into needing overall improvement too.

The TEA will be monitoring and intervening in the districts and campuses to help improve their ratings.
