Texas Chicken Product Recalled due to Possible Contamination
WESLACO – More than 2,300 whole frozen chickens are being recalled after a Texas meat and poultry plant failed to document that it took preventative steps to eliminate bacterial contamination.
The Texas Department of State Health Services says processing issues at Sealy-based Texas All Grass-Fed may have permitted the growth of Salmonella and other bacteria.
The chicken was mainly distributed in the Houston, Dallas and Austin areas and also sold at the company’s storefront in Sealy.
There have been no reported illnesses linked to the product as of yet.
