HARLINGEN – Travelers could see the impact of the partial government shutdown at the airport.

The people who complete inspections at airports are federal employees.

Transportation Security Administration agents are working but without pay.

A lawsuit filed on behalf of federal employees says their jobs are considered essential because they are some of the most dangerous jobs in federal government.

A concern about the possible consequence to safety and processing times has reached TSA’s national office because many employees aren’t showing up for work.
