TRGLA to Determine if LUPE Members Can Reapply for FEMA Aid
WESLACO - Some homeowners denied benefits by FEMA following Hurricane Dolly may be eligible to reapply.
Rio Grande Valley residents who were members of La Union Del Pueblo Entero or LUPE in 2008 and were denied by FEMA can now reapply for benefits.
The new guidelines were released after a recent decision by a federal court in Brownsville.
It's important to remember, people have to have been a LUPE member in 2008 and had applied for assistance but were denied.
Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid will determine if people qualify. For more information call them at 866-757-1570 no later than June 1.
