Troops to be Stationed in San Antonio Before Deploying to Border
WESLACO – The Department of Defense says troops will team up at a staging area before being deployed to the border.
The feds are calling this effort ‘Operation Faithful Patriot’.
The Commander of the U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command, Terrence John O'Shauhnessy, says 1,000 active duty troops were sent down and another 800 are currently in route.
The troops will be stationed at Lackland Joint Base in San Antonio until they are deployed.
