TxDOT Beginning Plan for Transportation of Older Texans
WESLACO – The Texas Department of Transportation is beginning the multi-million dollar transportation plan aimed at helping older Texans.
TxDOT public information officer Octavio Saenz says he often receives calls from locals suggesting expansion of bus services to small cities.
"Somebody who is elderly or disabled, depends on transportation services," says Saenz.
TxDOT will be holding a series of listening sessions to address problems across the state.
$6 million will be divided into areas where current transportation is unavailable or failing.
Valley Metro will host the open session on Jan. 16 at 510 S. Pleasantview Drive in Weslaco.
