TxDOT near Completion of Inspiration Road Construction Project
MISSION – The Texas Department of Transportation said a major construction project in Mission is almost finalized.
TxDOT spokesperson Octavio Saenz said crews have been working on Inspiration Road for more than three years. The project was supposed to be completed by the end of last year, but weather delayed it numerous times.
“By April, we’ll realize that not only will you have additional lanes on the actual interstate, but you’ll also have a continuously north and south corridor which will be Inspiration Road,” he said. “You have a continuously frontage alongside the interstate too. It’s something that you didn’t have with the former schematic.”
Saenz said the project’s total cost of upgrades is about $36 million.
