PHARR – Changes are coming to a congestion problem many in the Rio Grande Valley most likely want to see gone.

On Thursday, the Texas Department of Transportation is getting ready to unveil their plans for the Pharr Interchange.

The proposed changes include expanding the existing roadway to make room for more traffic.

TxDOT says they will be expanding the existing interchange.

It will have two 12-foot wide travel lanes with four-foot wide inside shoulders and 10-foot wide outside shoulders.

The meeting will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Boggus Ford Event Center in Pharr.
