HIDALGO – CBP seized more than $163,000 in cash at the Hidalgo International Bridge Tuesday.

Authorities said a 34-year-old from Washington State was attempting to cross into Reynosa with the loot.

CBP officers discovered the currency concealed in 11 packages in the man’s luggage.

The money was confiscated and the man arrested.

U.S. Homeland Security is investigating.
