Valley Cities Prepare for Heavy Rainfall
MERCEDES – As severe weather approaches, cities and counties across the Rio Grande Valley are preparing for heavy rainfall.
Cameron County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Hushen says they’re working in coordination with other county leaders to check emergency pumps and clear out ditches.
“We’re working with our irrigation and drainage districts. We’ve been in constant contact with them,” he says.
Hushen adds this time around, they want to be more prepared in case of a heavy rain event.
