Valley District Judge Charged with Bribery Still on State, County Payroll
EDINBURG – A Hidalgo County district judge continues getting paid by the state of Texas following his arrest.
The FBI says Judge Rudy Delgado was taking money in exchange for favorable rulings.
Delgado is paid $140,000 a year by the state of Texas and $18,000 by the county.
The State Comptroller’s Office says Delgado is still on the state payroll.
The Hidalgo County county treasurer says Delgado is still getting his county portion, too.
Both entities said the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct will decide if he will still get paid.
