MISSION – A local auto parts manufacturer is studying the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal that will replace the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Trung Nguyen, owner of Royal Technologies, says he’s been eager to expand his business.

Nguyen owns a plant that manufactures interior items for vehicles like map and cup holders in Mission.

He says he’s watched NAFTA negotiations closely because his job is dependent on trade with Mexico.

KRGV’s Frank McCaffrey reached out to a Rio Grande Valley Partnership representative with the Weslaco Chambers of Commerce to discuss how this new proposal will help local owners like Nguyen.
