With triple-digit temperatures in the forecast, valley power companies are asking you to conserve energy in hopes of avoiding forced rolling-blackout power restrictions.

“It’s getting to a point where our supply is being challenged. Our reserves are low," explained Phillip Amaya, a technical services division manager at Magic Valley Electric Co-op.

Amaya said this usually doesn’t happen until mid to late August.

CHANNEL 5's Taylor Winkel talked to Amaya about what it all means.

-Turn it up to a higher temperature when you leave

-Close blinds and drapes during the late afternoon

-Use fans to help cool you down
