Valley Residents Helping Out Earthquake Victims in Mexico City
MCALLEN--Valley residents are helping out earthquake victims in Mexico.
The group called Fuerza Mexico spent the day gathering canned goods, blankets, tents and other supplies. The supplies will go to Mexico City. The group says they are helping out because many of them have friends and family in the area.
"I think it's important to support everybody anytime a catastrophe hits we need to support one another and be there for each other," Chantel Childress, a member of Fuerza Mexico, said.
The group is working with another group in Mexico City who will distribute supplies.
So far, they have sent 3 trucks full of supplies over to Mexico.
