Valley Shelters in Need of Space, Volunteers

BROWNSVILLE – Rio Grande Valley shelters need more room and volunteers as they continue to receive immigrants.

Several people showed up for volunteer Red Cross training in Brownsville Wednesday.

Local churches interested in serving as temporary shelters for immigrants were invited.

The city of Brownsville says if the need for more space comes up, they’re prepared to open the FEMA dome to immigrant families.
