EDINBURG – An Edinburg man says recent rain ruined his home shortly after he finished fixing the damage left behind from June’s floods.

Resident Inocencio Rios says he’s had more problems in the last three months than in the entire 35 years he’s lived in his home.

He wants the drainage problem in his neighborhood fixed.

"I want to see it improved because we don't want this to happen anymore. Why did they wait for this to happen again?” says Rios.

KRGV’s Frank McCaffrey reached out to the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1.

The general manager, Raul Sesin, says upgrades to the ditch were already underway after the floods in June. He adds, crews are currently working to make the water drain faster.
