PRIMERA – An intruder has been charged following a shootout that took place at a Primera residence

KRGV’s John Paul Barajas spoke with the homeowner who faced off with the intruder.

"He’s like this, and then I see the flash and I hear the pop. And that's when I realized, ‘I’m in a gun fight,’" says the homeowner, David Wise, who is also a retired cop and currently holds a position as a municipal court judge.

Wise hopes he’s not being targeted given his background.

Primera Police Chief Manuel Trevino advises the public to always lock their doors and have proper lighting on their property.
