WESLACO – The election race for the 13th District Court of Appeals, Place 4 is unusual – a candidate is under federal indictment.

Rodolfo “Rudy” Delgado is no longer the presiding judge of the court, but his name is on the ballot for the 13th Court of Appeals Justice, Place 4.

After Delgado was arrested on federal charges, Jaime Tijerina was appointed his district judge seat at the Hidalgo County 93rd District Court.

Tijerina left that seat and is now running against Delgado.
