Wal-Mart Stores to Host Free Health, Wellness Event
MCALLEN - Flu activity in Texas is the highest it's been in 10 years, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Earlier this week CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to Dr. Steven Perilman at Edinburg Children's Hospital, who said more children are coming to the hospital with flu like symptoms, many of them being unvaccinated.
Now, Wal-Mart is stepping in to help with a free health event.
The event is set to take place Saturday at select Wal-Mart stores from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Free health screenings will be offered, along with low-cost flu shots and immunizations.
