Weslaco hospital receives new surgery equipment for urology patients

New high-tech equipment is now in place at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. It could save from cancer patients from having to leave the Rio Grande Valley for treatment.

Dr. James Sander, a urologist, says work has picked up after elective procedures resumed early in May. He has new surgical equipment, including HD X-ray monitors which enhances visualization.

The new gear will also help with patient safety. It will limit the amount of radiation to the patient and the people in the operating theater.
