WESLACO – CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to the Weslaco Police Department after viewer concerns of looting in the city after Wednesday's flooding.

Weslaco Police Spokesperson Eric Hernandez says they have not received any official burglary reports as of Thursday afternoon.

The police department is taking preventative measures.

Texas Fish and Wildlife officers, Department of Public Safety, Hidalgo County Constables and Weslaco police officers are securing flooded areas, according to Hernandez.
