WESLACO – A Weslaco woman says she was determined to rescue her family and dogs from the flooding no matter what it took.

Her home is located off of Pike Blvd. in Weslaco, which turned into a lake after the heavy rainfall.

The woman and her father used an inflatable popsicle to bring her children to safety and even her dogs - including several puppies.

She says they brought everyone to safety except for her husband, who needed to be transported to the hospital after his toe was cut with glass. She says he is now safe as well.

KRGV's Frank McCaffrey spoke with the woman about the rescues.
