RAYMONDVILLE – Some Rio Grande Valley farmers continue to push through drought conditions as their crops thirst for rain.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS first introduced you to Spence Pennington, a dryland farmer in Willacy County, nearly two weeks ago.

Pennington tells us he was hoping for rain by Easter, but the recent rainfall missed most of the Valley.

He says his fields remain dry and his cotton crop is in danger. If it doesn’t rain soon, he says crop insurance could come into play.
