WESLACO – The windy forecast could cause problems for Rio Grande Valley businesses whose employees work outdoors.

A local tree trimmer tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS he must take extra precautions on windy days.

"Yes, it becomes very dangerous. You need to be careful and always be prepared,” Emilio Rodriguez explains.

He says at times he’ll have to wait for the winds to calm, which results in loss of time and money.

KRGV’s Cecilia Gutierrez spoke with a National Weather Service meteorologist about the dangers strong winds can bring.

Jason Straub says these winds are caused by a cold front set to move into the Valley on Thursday.
