KRGV-TV, the ABC affiliate in the beautiful Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, is currently seeking: Broadcasting IT Technician

KRGV is seeking a full-time motivated individual to be a part of Broadcast IT Team. As our Broadcast IT Tech Support you will handle numerous technical issues for our company. Please read the list of skills below to make sure you are qualified. We will support your career growth with tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • · Maintain operation and maintenance of networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
  • · Maintain operation and maintenance of servers (Windows, Linux, VM, etc.),
  • · Maintain operation and maintenance of broadcast equipment and satellite earth-station controllers and receivers, video servers, ENG receive systems, video routing systems, audio mixing consoles, and camera video control panels.
  • · Knowledge of broadcast video and audio systems, experience with videotape and servers, C-band and KU-band satellite receive systems, basic electronic troubleshooting knowledge and experience with post-production video editing, on-air switching, and live production audio is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • · Active Directory/ VM / Microsoft Server/ Maintenance/ Deployment
  • · Network Switch Operation/Maintenance/Deployment
  • · Desktop PC Operation/Maintenance/Deployment
  • · Non-Linear Editor Operation/Maintenance/Deployment
  • · FTP, Website, Helpdesk Operation/Maintenance/Deployment
  • · 24/7 Phone Support/ Remote Desktop/ Dispatch
  • · Offsite Equipment Maintenance · Product Research/Quotation
  • · Cable/Wire installation in Drop Ceiling/ Raised Floor (requires ladder climbing and crouching)
  • · Lifting 15-30 lbs
  • · Strong experience in fabrication, electronic soldering, component level repair
  • · Proficiency with hand tools, and electrical test equipment
  • · Experience with video switchers, audio mixers, studio cameras, ENG cameras and transmission equipment, video servers
  • · Automotive repair, camera accessory repair, satellite dish alignment and receiver configuration
  • · Audio/video cable assembly
  • · Proficiency with legacy broadcast equipment (3/4 inch tape machines, DVC Pro, Beta, etc.)
  • · 2 years of experience in TV/Radio Engineering
  • · Valid Driver’s License
  • · Working hours will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • · Bilingual is preferred.
