Border Patrol Expanding Efforts in Location Marker Project
NEAR FALFURRIAS – Border Patrol and four local consulates are joining forces to save people crossing into the U.S. illegally.
For a faster response time, nearly 100 placards, containing information of their exact location, were placed near ranches and heavily-trafficked roads in Falfurrias and Kingsville as part of the Location Marker Project.
The federal agency hopes those risking their lives on their journey north can call 9-1-1 before it’s too late.
KRGV’s Carolina Cruz spoke to a Honduras Consulate representative. They say they’re also working on programs that help Honduran natives remain in the country.
