PRIMERA – Business owners in Primera should expect to have an added expense if they’re not up-to-date with required permits.

For the past two years, permits have been required in order to conduct business in the city.

Primera now has a new code enforcement officer who will be checking for permits.

KRGV’s John Paul Barajas spoke with a business owner, who is also a city commissioner and voted to pass this ordinance.

“A lot of people are conducting business or still are conducting business here in the city limits of Primera without having a tax permit,” says Rudy Garza, owner of Mr. G Food Store and city commissioner.

Garza says the new code enforcement officer doesn’t have a timetable for when he will be checking for permits but hopes it will be soon.
