City of South Padre Island to Hold Public Meeting about Parking Fees
UPDATE (10/26): City officials are reviewing feedback over a possible plan to charge for parking at South Padre Island.
Over 70 people showed up Thursday to the public meeting; the majority, we're told, voicing their opposition to the idea.
The city's proposed plan would include hourly fees, monthly and annual passes for parking along Gulf Boulevard.

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – The city of South Padre Island is inviting the public to comment on tentative plans to add parking fees at the island.
City officials proposed parking fees to range from hourly fees to an annual beach parking pass.
The public meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at city hall.
