Construction Delay Leaves Mission Family Waiting for New Home
UPDATE (7:33 PM): The homebuilder responded to CHANNEL 5 NEWS shortly after the story aired.
Joe Guzman, owner of CelKar Redevelopment, explained the reason there was a delay in construction was because of an issue with a building permit.
MISSION – Out of thousands of dollars and still no home built.
A Mission homeowner signed a contract in May, hoping he and his family would soon have a place to call home.
U.S. Navy veteran Jesus Duran signed a contract to construct a home for $50,000.
Duran gave CelKar Redevelopment $5,000 to start.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to the company’s owner; we were told he was in the hospital.
We visited the address printed on the contract – it led us to a home with no business sign.
