Deadline to Sign Up for Seed Cotton Protection Program Approaching
WESLACO – An agricultural expert says cotton farmers can sign up for federal protection.
William Thompson with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension says for the first time since the 2014 Farm Bill, cotton farmers can enroll in the government safety net program.
The assistance can help them recover some losses if the season is a bust.
Thompson says growers have until September to sign up.
