Decision to Try Defendant Adult in Starr Co. Murder Delayed
RIO GRANDE CITY – The decision in a hearing to move a juvenile’s case to adult court won’t come until next year.
The hearing is for a 16-year-old who's facing charges in the murder of Chayse Olivarez.
In court Thursday, no decision was made, prompting the case into a recess until early January.
The defendant is charged with tampering with a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
Olivarez disappeared over the summer. His body was later found on a ranch in Roma.
