Disaster Declaration Issued for City of Edinburg
EDINBURG – The city of Edinburg has issued a disaster declaration following heavy rains and flooding in the area.
Edinburg Fire Chief Shawn Snider announced the mayor signed the emergency declaration on Wednesday.
"[It] prompts the state and the local area to know that there is a potential for severe damage to property and a threat of life," he says.
Snider adds crews are prepping for the impending severe weather heading toward the Rio Grande Valley.
The declaration will be sent to Gov. Greg Abbott.
