DONNA – A Rio Grande Valley school district has suspended their police chief pending the results of an internal investigation into their police department.
Donna ISD Police Chief Roy Padilla was suspended with pay.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke with attorney Alyssa Romero, who represents the district. She said the district will be conducting the investigation on their own.
Romero said the district will decide how to handle Padilla’s employment after they receive the results from the investigation.
We reached out to Donna ISD about the case. They responded with the following statement, which reads in part:
“The Donna ISD administration has placed DISD Police Chief Roy Padilla on administrative leave with pay pending a personnel audit. The matter is considered a personnel issue therefore no other information will be released at this time.”
