Emergency Operation Center Activated in Hidalgo Co.

EDINBURG – Hidalgo County activated an emergency operation center in Edinburg to quicken response efforts in case of severe flooding conditions.

The county’s emergency management coordinator tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS they’ve responded to 25 rescues so far.

Ricardo Saldana adds dozens of families have also been evacuated from their homes.

Staff will be answering calls Thursday, Sept. 13 until 6 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
