Fire Crews Respond to 2 Illegal Burns in Hidalgo Co.
NEAR EDCOUCH – Fire crews are at the scene of a fire they say started as an illegal burn.
The fire, reported along the 2800 block of north Val Verde Road, is the second illegal burn reported on Thursday.
John Franz, an investigator with the Hidalgo County Fire Marshal’s Office, says it started as a trash burn which got out of control.
His team also responded to a fire near Alton earlier today.
Franz says someone tried to kill ants by lighting up an ant hole.
