Five Recovering from Injuries Sustained in Harlingen Crash
Five people are recovering from a crash Saturday night on Highway 77 and Primera Road.
According to police, a pick-up truck was traveling north on Highway 77, when the driver lost control and veered onto the median, striking a sign.
The truck traveled down the slope of the overpass, crashing into a tree.
Parts of the tree landed on the highway, before they were hit by an SUV passing by.
The impact caused the SUV to roll off the highway and onto the Frontage Road.
The five people taken to the hospital are believed to have non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the pick-up was cited for failing to control speed.
