IDEA Student in Hospital after Being Hit by Car
WESLACO – An IDEA Public School student was admitted to a hospital after being hit by a car.
Weslaco police say the 18-year-old was hit as he attempted to run across the street Wednesday afternoon.
We’re told he’s being treated for a possible broken ankle.
The school district sent the following statement, which reads in part:
On Wednesday afternoon, an IDEA Weslaco student was hit by a vehicle on his walk home from school and suffered a leg injury. Our staff took immediate action and notified medical personnel in addition to his parents. He was transported to a hospital, where he is currently being seen.
Investigators say the driver will not be cited.
